She ran away after a year of emotional and physical abuse at the academy’s hands, but never could find her way home. Instead, she joined a band of thieves and made a new life for herself. She hasn’t seen her brother, the thieves, or the academy in years, but they haunt her daily as she drifts between towns looking for work.

After his uncle was killed, Pith ran away, vowing to keep his family safe from his existence.

She ended up marrying Heir Remus of Zandrien only a year later. It wasn’t the throne she’d always wanted, but she retained some of her political power, which was enough for her.

She has all she needs- a flute, some good earth, and Shiun and Zea as friends. What else could she ever wish for?

Little is known about the private Emperor Kalipus. Everyone knows that he was extremely young when his father died and that he has expanded the empire by more than twice the land that his four previous leaders had. He has reinstated many old traditions in his leadership, including the history of polygamy in the empire. While this practice had been peaceful and traditional before, Kalipus’ use is highly unorthodox, much to the critique of his citizens and fellow leaders.
